I've been playing Ticket To Ride online lately, and I've got to admit, I'm hooked! For those of you that don't know how to play, it's a board game where you try to build tracks to complete route cards that you've drawn. It's a fun game to play with friends because it's not hard to learn, and it leaves plenty of time for chatting.
Although the online game doesn't necessarily allow for chatting, I still enjoy it because it goes pretty quickly. I never play against others online because, well, I don't think I'm that fantastic at the game. I only play against the computer. Then, if an occasional, "Oh, I can't believe you!" comes out, I don't feel like I'm being unkind. It is, after all, only a computer. It doesn't have feelings.
I've played 4 games already tonight online, and I might add, I won 2 of them!
So, Matt and I have several versions of Ticket To Ride. We have the US version, the Germany (and surrounding areas) version, and we have the card game. The card one is my favorite of the physical versions. I think I just gravitate toward cards. The US version is pretty fun, but the Germany one is difficult for me. There are additional rules to remember, and I don't know the geography well. It's frustrating when you draw a route card and can't find the cities you need to connect! We played this one on Monday with some of our friends, and I basically did the best I could but lost by a large margin! Oh, well, guess I'm heading back to the computer game...
