Projects, projects, projects

Well, we are working on a long list of projects that need to be completed before we can put our house on the market, which we are trying to do toward the beginning of February. Because I have VERY limited skills in this area, and I don't want to take Matt's skilled hands away from the big projects, I have assumed the responsibility of filling nail holes on the interior trim. I know that doesn't sound too bad when you first think about it, but consider that there is trim in every room, and there are multiple nail holes in each board. I would say averaging about 10-15 per board of the longer ones. It's a very tedious project that I have wished more than once was not mine. However, I'm trying to do my minimal part to get the house done.
For those of you who don't know (which was me a couple of weeks ago), there are several products that can be used to fill the holes. They have varying levels of messiness. After battling two of the methods for several hours, I found at Home Depot tonight the most exciting method to date. It is not very messy at all, easy to apply, and it makes me look like a hole filling champ! I know that sounds lame, but to me, it was a victory. It made my tedious task actually tolerable. I'm almost looking forward to doing the other rooms. I say almost because my hands are a little bit sore. That is the only realy downfall of this technique--squeezing the tube of goo. Not bad considering what I was dealing with before.
And so, it continues--the picking off one by one of the projects on the dreaded list. Wish us luck!!

good luck! I'm sure my mom can empathize, because I think she got that job in her current house (and probably the last one too!). Exciting times! I hope it sells quickly for you.
