Can you believe it? We had snow on Christmas in Oregon! That hasn't happened in so many years. In fact, we might have missed it, except that my brother, Ken, happened to notice it out one of the windows. We promptly opened almost all the curtains we could find to look at the huge flakes that were dropping (and sticking a little bit). I was holding Penelope at the time. I tried to hold her up so she could see the snow of her first Christmas, but she was more interested in looking at my sleeve. Well, what do you do? I guess a 5 week old baby may be a little too young to appreciate the miracle that is snow in Oregon.
This snow added to a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day filled with music, lots of laughter, and love. Aunt Tony carried on traditions started by my grandma of making peppermint bark candy. That was a sweet reminder of holidays past and helped Grandma feel close.
Dad, Mom, Matt, and I watched childhood videos of my mom's. The Psycho Aunts and Grandma provided commentary that doubled as the soundtrack. It was really funny and such a treasure to have in the family.
Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful day, too!!
Happy holidays!!!
