Oregon Symphonic Band

As many of you know, Matt plays the french horn. He's been playing since junior high, and is currently part of the Oregon Symphonic Band (OSB). Over the years, I have really enjoyed going to the concerts. On top of fantastic music, I'm just so proud of Matt and his abilities. It's kind of that I'm-with-that-good-looking-and-talented-horn-player thing.
Recently, the Board of Directors for OSB had several resignations in a short period of time. During one of the concerts, they asked for volunteers to join or help the Board. I approached the director, Michael, and told him that I was willing to help out wherever needed. Eventually, I was asked to be the secretary. I've gone to two meetings already, and it's been a great experience. I feel like I've been able to establish myself as a credible contributor to discussions and, hopefully, a valuable member of the team.
I have a feeling this could open up some doors for me. I don't know exactly what they might be, but I'm looking forward to the opportunities.
In the meantime, there's a concert coming up on May 10th for anyone that will be in the Portland area.
