Okay. Kristi sent me this, and I think it's a great distraction from the work I have to do. So, here you go. Sorry ahead of time for the long entry. Enjoy!
Everything you ever wanted (or didn't want) to know about Matt and Jen.
How long did you date? We "officially" dated about 3 1/2 months, but we had been good friends for about two years before that and friendly acquaintances for about 12 years before that. I'd say we had a pretty good foundation.
How old is he? 30
How old are you? 30 (4 days older--much more mature.)
Who eats more sweets? Wow. That's a toss up. I would say we're about even. I'm way more into the chocolate and/or ice cream thing, and he's probably more into candies.
Who said I love you first? Matt did. It was presented like this "Would it totally freak you out if I told you that I love you?" My response, "No, because I think I love you, too." Romantic, huh? :)
Who is taller? Matt by about 3 inches.
Who can sing better? I would say we're about equal--we have different strengths. Matt surprised me with his skill at singing. It was a pleasant surprise.
Who is smarter? Depends on the topic. I'm kind of like Kristi, my brain has way too much trivia packed into it, but Matt can completely school me on computer or math things. And, you know, that's okay with me.
Who does the laundry? I do, in exchange for him doing the dishes. Both are jobs neither of us prefer, so, we established that division of labor early on in our marriage. I have put down one rule, though--if it's not in the baskets, I'm not washing it. He's been known to do a load or two during our four years because he was out of clean shirts, and none of the dirty ones were in the baskets.
Who does the dishes? Matt usually does.
Guilty pleasures? We both love to watch "Dancing with the Stars". Matt's hooked as much as I am. We're also big fans of Nilla wafers dipped in Nutella. Hi, heaven on a wafer! I discovered that a month or so ago, and, yeah, it's evil...
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Matt does. We have switched before, but that usually ends in him rolling over to my side of the bed and leaving me approximately 3 inches to sleep on.
Who mows the lawn? Matt--my handsome gardener. Okay, he just mows and occasionally weeds, but handsome gardener sounds so much better than handsome mower and weeder.
Who cooks dinner? Mostly Matt. He's a much better cook than I am, and he enjoys it more than I do. I do cook and can cook, but when I do, Matt's not allowed into the kitchen. I need to feel comfortable doing it my way, and it usually turns out just fine.
Who is more stubborn? We both are. It depends on the situation.
Who kissed who first? Matt kissed me first. In fact, I wasn't expecting it, but I wasn't complaining, either.
Who asked who out first? I guess Matt did. We didn't officially date, really. We were hanging out a ton. Then, one evening, Matt said, "So, why aren't we dating?" I said I didn't know. He, then, said, "What's the difference between dating and what we're doing?" I said I didn't know, again. (Brilliant girl, huh? Could I have come up with the answer of kissing?!) We did a trial period of about a week, and made it official after that.
Who proposed? Matt did. Another spur of the moment thing. He was going to plan an elaborate proposal, but there was a perfect moment that couldn't be passed up. So, he got down on one knee in the middle of his living room. It was wonderful!
Who has more siblings? I do. With two brothers, that outnumbers his siblings by two. Being married to an only child has been interesting.
Who wears the pants? We both own pants. :)
What is your favorite thing about him? Oh, where to start. He's patient with me, tells me what I need to hear, loves me in spite of my flaws, keeps me on my toes, makes me laugh, loves my family, works hard at his job, is compassionate, and is endlessly supportive. The thing I love most, though, is that he has a testimony of the Gospel and is faithful, obedient, and firm in that. He honors his priesthood and blesses our lives with it. He's wonderful!
