A new calling

Today, I got set apart as the Ward Activities Chair. I had a feeling I would get this calling after the woman who was in here became the YW Pres. I have to admit, I've had a little trouble getting excited about it. I'm sure it will be fine, and I know it's where I'm supposed to be serving. Maybe I'm just feeling a little disorganized and overwhelmed. When I get a committee meeting together, get a notebook for my stuff, and get trained, everything will all fall into place.
So, anyone have any ideas of activities their ward has had that have been successful and FUN?!?

I think you'll be great at that! We just did a burrito bar, with shredded sweet pork and people brought in board games from home, the ward provided babysitting. It was SUPER fun!

My favorite ward activity is the annual ward talent show. The primary gets pretty involved. The kids display art (paintings, clay models, etc) and act, and usually the adults / families come up with some pretty funny skits. But that is a lot of work, you need support from the axillaries to host that event. It’s tradition in my ward, so everyone expects it and it goes pretty smoothly.
