Today, Matt and I went to the Natural History Museum. My favorite part was the room with the gems in it. They have the Hope Diamond there. For some reason, I didn't realize that it was a blue-ish diamond. In my head, I had it as a clear stone. There were so many HUGE, beautiful rocks there. Matt's comment when we saw the Hope diamond? "You're not getting it." Dang! I'll work on him a little more.
We also went to the National Portrait Museum. In the hour and a half we were there, I only got through most of one floor. I could have spent a lot longer there. I've discovered that I really enjoy portraits. I had a great time at the portrait museum in London, too. I think it's because so many of the paintings capture something about each individual's personality. I often see it in the eyes.
Anyway, it was a good day, and we walked a TON! I'm sure Matt and I will both be very sore tomorrow.
