Tonight, I got to hold a 2 day old baby girl. She is the daughter of our Laurel's Adviser, and she is really sweet! It was nice just to hold her, peaceful, you know?
Dad and I went to see Pirates of Penzance tonight. There's a theater company in Portland that does Gilbert and Sullivan shows every summer pretty much. Last year, Dad and I went to see Ruddigore and enjoyed it. We decided to make it an annual daddy-daughter date. I love my dad!
Anyway, while I was there, I was thinking about how much I enjoy being on stage and how much I would love to do it again. I feel like I'm kind of in a pickle, though, because for me, stake plays move too slowly through the rehearsal process. I understand the need to go that slowly, but I get frustrated and bored stiff doing it. There are TONS of theater companies around the Portland Metro area, but they all have performances on Sunday, which I'm not comfortable with. So, I feel stuck.
I'm supposed to be co-directing a performance of the Forgotten Carols this December. Co-directing is a loose term. Basically, I get to make this other lady's vision come to life. I get the feeling that I don't have a ton of say. Yeah, I'm not so thrilled about it now that I've discovered what is expected of me. Maybe when I get into it more, it will be better, but I don't know.
Wow! This is getting to be a really depressing post. Sorry about that. I think I better end this!

I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your dad. Good luck with the Forgotten Carols. If you want to hide out at our home for a few months so you are not "available" we're open. Tell Matt, I'll even leave the mattress ON the bed!

There's nothing like holding a baby. At least a peaceful one...
Lydia is not always so peaceful. In fact, she flails a lot. Maybe that's why today, when she finally fell asleep after much screaming and flailing at church, I wanted to just hold her. She still smells like heaven.
